Summoned and Unwanted

Chapter 414

Zefine later explained how after spending a lot of time with the children, she heard how Sakura isn’t an evil woman, and how they liked her. Furthermore, the adults didn’t mention a concerning comment as well.

Later, Vincent and Zefine went to the barn, where the five children waited for them patiently. Tula was also with them, but she waited for an adult to pet the animals because she didn’t consider herself an adult.

As the barn constructed next to the stable entered Vincent and Kazumi’s sight, both became surprised to see the building. The barn wasn’t too large, and the wood fence covered enough area for the animals to roam around and have a breath of fresh air comfortably.

Zefine was like a zookeeper in their eyes.

After spending a while with Zefine, Leah, Clara, Beth, Olive, Lian, Tula, and the animals, Vincent headed toward the workshop. It was his final destination.

Vincent approached the door with the conviction of apologizing to Sakura for taking so long to visit her. *Gulp* *Knock, knock* After the second knock made a sound, the door opened partly, and a lavender-colored hand extended.

“Huh?” Was Vincent’s last words before he was pulled inside. Anyone who watched the workshop slightly shake and make strange noises of objects falling or heavy objects moving had to wonder what was happening inside.

Hours later, the situation calmed.

.....

Sakura opened the first-floor window, tied both ends of her bathrobe’s belt, and sat on the windowsill. She used a towel to dry her hair while smiling at Vincent.

The gentle breeze carried the fresh scent of the lavender-scented fragrance Sakura had recently bathed in, attracting Vincent’s attention. As he gazed at Sakura, looking so comfortable and content made him think his job as a husband was painstakingly done.

‘Sakura looks like a different woman than before... but at least this husband made his wife happy at last.’ Vincent looked down and saw his body slightly tremble from exhaustion. ‘But having the strength of two people at high peak is still not enough for her...’

However, this thought could never be revealed to Sakura. Not after she felt pleased by how greatly she controlled herself to restrain her strength.

“Vincent, thank you for leaving the mask under my pillow before you left. It kept me company while reminding me of you.” Sakura was the first one to initiate a conversation, and it appeared the mask she made for Vincent made her feel as if she wasn’t alone.

“I am sorry for visiting you so late, but I will try to be earlier next time. ” Vincent apologized. He looked at Sakura with a committed gaze and continued, “I will try to acquire an enchanted item and bring you a gift on the next visit.”

Sakura was pleased to hear his words, but it soon helped her remember how Vincent didn’t know about Darwin’s gift. “Vincent, follow me.” She said with a beaming smile.

Later, Vincent got to know how Darwin offered a beneficial gift to Sakura as well. After a lengthy explanation of her progress thus far, Sakura nervously asked for a favor. She planned to use the mask as her first successful enchanted work.

After Sakura asked if it was fine with him to modify the demon mask, Vincent questioned why this was a favor.

However, thanks to Kazumi explaining how the mask was most probably the first gift Sakura had ever made and given to a person she loves, Vincent realized how important the mask was to her.

“Sure. But don’t be hard on yourself if what you desire fails. The mask’s purpose was to be scary after all.” Vincent agreed to the proposal.

Sakura became trilled. She excitedly opened her arms, and *Crack* embraced Vincent tightly. “I- I am sorry...” Sakura released her killer embrace and anxiously looked at Vincent, stretching his back.

[I think a defensive enchanted shirt should be the first gift Sakura needed to give you. Hehe.]

A while later, the mood returned to normal. The two of them rearranged the workshop as it was before while chatting about what happened during their week. As expected, Sakura didn’t have much to say, so Vincent was the one who mainly talked.

After they finished, Sakura soon noticed an empty area on her usual tool-infested working bench. “Why did you place my tools under the bench? And why are there two chairs next to it?” She asked curiously.

Vincent approached the bench and said, “Dinner is served. I hope my lovely wife enjoys the food we cooked and ate every day.” Green lights appeared one after another. Plates, cutlery, cups, water, and warm food materialized.

Sakura blushed, and a tear of joy appeared on the edge of her eyes. She was happy to eat the same food Vincent, Ester, Lupa, Iris, and Lilith were eating. It made her feel as if she was with them.

“Thank you.” These were the only two words Sakura said before she ate, as if the food was the tastiest in the world.

Later, Vincent and Sakura returned to the mansion hand in hand, but because it was time to leave, their time together was at its end. It was time to say goodbye and wait another week to see each other again.

Maria noticed Vincent walking with a female demon who was taller than him. Even though Sakura had a smile on her face, Maria became defensive of the threat in front of her eyes.

Ester noticed Maria acting as if she was preparing for a fight. “Teacher Maria. She is one of my husband’s wives and my sworn sister. Sakura is the woman I requested you not to judge by her appearance.” She urgently explained.

“What? I thought you said that because she was very ugly...” Maria said with a shocked expression. She needed to have a good talk with Darwin about why he didn’t tell her how Vincent was married to a demon, yet she partly understood why there was the need for secrecy.

While saying their goodbyes, Tula and Tula appeared. Both were holding a large tray together with a pile of sandwiches.

“I made these because I fear your diets aren’t balanced. ” Yula said.

Yula glanced at Lupa and Iris while saying the word balanced. Lupa only preferred to eat meat, while Iris preferred to eat vegetables. The sandwiches were mostly made with the two of them in mind.

Vincent felt pleased to have someone supporting him, like a caring mother. Yula reminded him of Kevin’s wife and his mother.

“We need to go. ” Maria said from inside the carriage.

“Well, it looks like the time is up.” Vincent stored all the food prepared with consideration and looked at all the residents of the Emerald Mansion gathered in front of the main entrance.

“I hope all of you will have a great week. I can’t wait for the week the pass without any bad news.” He continued with a warm smile.

After giving Sakura a goodbye kiss, Vincent went to sit beside Sofy. Soon, they left the mansion and headed for the academy.

Maria looked outside the window and recalled what had happened that evening. She had asked a few people about the frozen fountain incident while taking a stroll. The response was a satisfying one.

‘The horny lion told me the truth. Many remembered what I did in the past, but very few hoped to thank the ice mage one day. At least my suffering wasn’t for nothing.’ Maria thought. She closed her eyes, and her lips slightly curved at the thought of her parents learning of the responses she heard.

Later they arrived at their destination, and after waiting for the horses to rest, they saw Sofy drive the carriage back home. It was Vincent who requested to make this gesture as it felt tactless to let Sofy tend to the horses alone.

After entering the inner gate of the academy, the ability to teleport became available. Maria quickly left for Paradise Island to talk to her parents as her special academy teacher card didn’t have a Saturday and Sunday-only limit.

On the other hand, Vincent and Lilith teleported with Ester, Lupa, Iris, Lilith, Plow, and Zero to their island residence.

As they expected, everyone was sleeping, so they tried not to make much noise while going to their bedroom.

*Day 91 – 08 September – Monday*

The start of a new week arrived. Vincent met with Nick, and they ran around the mansion as had become their morning routine. Lupa and Vivid also join them while Plow would run about halfway and find somewhere to rest.

Nick mentioned an unpleasant rumor about Vincent as they ran. It appeared Kilo Blackheart mocked the Lionheart family multiple times on Saturday and Sunday for accepting a commoner in their family. Kilo also called Vincent, a cheap commoner in noble’s clothing for even attempting to use a defective scroll to gain fame.

Fortunately, Nick never mentioned Lilith being directly targeted. Vincent was his only target, so he tried to ignore the weak little bastard for now.

However, even when there is the bad, good opportunities can be found. While the Lionheart name inevitably became in the tounges of many, Nick overheard some students ask others if they heard how the Lionheart family was going to announce a strange new product soon.

Ironically, Kilo Blackheart was promoting the Lionheart family’s new hundred percent magic-free pelts.
